Shades of Munich
May 5, 1954

The Geneva Conference that was held in May-June of 1954 sought resolution of the conflicts in Korea and Indo-china. The Munich Agreement signed in 1938 by Western European leaders, including the Chancellor of Germany, Joseph Hitler, and British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain, gave Hitler the Sudetenland as long as he agreed not to pursue further conquests in Czechoslovakia. It became synonymous for appeasement.
