Holiday Hours and Winter Break

The Billy Ireland Cartoon Library & Museum’s Museum Galleries, Lucy Shelton Caswell Reading Room and Offices will be closed on the following:

  • December 24-26, 2023
  • December 31, 2023
  • January 1, 2024

The Museum Galleries are open Tuesday-Sunday from 1-5 pm.

The Lucy Shelton Caswell Reading Room will be open by appointment during Winter Break,  December 15, 2023-January 5, 2024.

Limited Parking-Saturday, September 9, 2023

Due to the first OSU home football game, on Saturday, September 9th, many parking garages are full or closed.

Drawing Gender: Women and French-Language Comics Symposium

Join us Friday, February 28 and Saturday, February 29 for the Drawing Gender: Women and French-language Comics Symposium that celebrates the richness of women’s comics production and the representations of gender in French-language comics from around the world. Montreal-based artist Julie Delporte, along with scholars from the France, Belgium, the US, and the UK will present their work on gender throughout the history of comic strip.

This program is co-presented by The Ohio State University Department of French and Italian Department and the Billy Ireland Cartoon Library & Museum.

New exhibitions open November 2, 2019

The museum galleries are now open for our new exhibitions “Drawn to Presidents: Portraits and Satiric Drawings by Drew Friedman” and “Ladies First: A Century of Women’s Innovations in Comics and Cartoon Art “. Also on view is “Treasures from the Collections of the Billy Ireland Cartoon Library & Museum”. The galleries are open Tuesday-Sunday from 1-5 pm. Closed Mondays and holidays.
