Vertical Files
Vertical files are an artificial collection of published, unpublished, photocopied, or original materials, arranged for ready reference by a library or archive. The materials found in these files have been compiled by library staff or by the sources noted on the physical folder.
The vertical files are organized into the following categories: Biographical, Subject, and Topic. Each category contains files, arranged alphabetically by title. To request materials from the vertical files, contact cartoons@osu.edu. Note: The contents of these files have not been digitized.
Biographical Files
Browse the alphabetical list of files, organized by artist’ last name, that are comprised of clippings or ephemera. Contents of the files are not digitized so they must be viewed in the reading room.
Subject Files
Browse the alphabetical list of files, organized by subject, that are comprised of writings on a specific subject. Contents of the files are not digitized so they must be viewed in the reading room.
Topic Files
Browse the alphabetical list of files, organized by topic, that are comprised of clipped cartoons on a specific topic. Contents of the files are not digitized so they must be viewed in the reading room.
