K-12 Classes

K-12 Classes
The Billy Ireland Cartoon Library & Museum Education Program invites visitors into the museum and classroom spaces to engage in hands-on activities, inquiry-based experiences, and immersive explorations of our collections that advance visual literacy and foster creativity.
We welcome K-12 teachers to utilize our resources to support instruction for students to become well-rounded learners with a lifelong appreciation for the medium of comics and cartoon art.
In addition, we offer guided tours and interactive workshops for groups of all ages, providing opportunities for deeper engagement with our exhibitions and collections.
Goals
- We believe comics are for everyone. Our education program is designed to foster a welcoming, accessible, and diverse environment to support all learners to see themselves in the world of cartooning.
- We welcome curiosity and critical thinking through hands-on learning experiences that explore the artistic, historical, and social impact of comics and cartoon art.
- We celebrate the preservation of comics and cartoon art by connecting learnings with archival collections and supporting research.
- We believe in creating programs to support students, scholars, educators and the public
