Scheduling a College Class Visit

Class at the BICLM Reading Room

The Billy Ireland Cartoon Library & Museum is happy to host classes from any discipline who are interested in learning more about their subject matter through the lens of cartoon art. Join us in the Lucy Shelton Caswell Reading Room for show-and-tell viewings of materials from our collections selected to enhance your course, or for a whirlwind history of cartoon art and instructional session on using our resources in our Will Eisner Seminar room. Special sessions can also be constructed based course topics and assignments.

To schedule a class at The Billy Ireland Cartoon Library & Museum, contact us at cartoons@osu.edu and include:

  • The name of the requesting institution
  • Course title and number (for Ohio State University classes)
  • Purpose and/or goals for the class visit
  • Two to three suggested dates for your session
  • Number of students

We require a minimum of one month in advance to arrange a class visit.

If you are interested in viewing specific materials, visit our Collections page to locate the object title, creator, and finding number or consult with a library staff member. Please include this information in your class request email.

*Please note that our reading room seats 24. Illustrated lectures are given in the seminar room on the second floor, which can seat up to 40.
