Join us on Saturday, March 29 for a FREE program and reception in honor of our current exhibit, The Lone Crusader: Larry Ivie and Fandom in the Golden Age of Comics! Attendees are invited to explore the galleries and learn more about the legacy of Larry Ivie from cartoonists Mark Schultz and Sandy Plunkett, as well as a very special presentation and show-and-tell about the late great EC Comics artist Al Williamson from his widow and son, Cori and Victor Williamson.
March 29 Event Parking Update
Visitors attending our program, “Larry Ivie’s Legacy and the Work of Al Williamson,” on Saturday, March 29, should be aware that event parking will be in effect due to a show at Mershon Auditorium.

Union North and Arps Garages will operate as prepaid event parking for $20.

Union South Garage will function as usual, with hourly parking available. The off-peak maximum rate for Union South Garage is $11, and payment will be made upon exit.

French cartoonist Jessica Oublié will discuss her latest work, Toxic Tropics: an in-depth piece of comics journalism exploring the persistent use of the deadly chemical Chlordecone to support the banana crops in Martinique and Guadeloupe.
Mini-Comics Day 2025 March 15, 2025
Mini-Comics Day is back!!
On Mini-Comics Day participating cartoonists from around the world write, draw, and print copies of a mini-comic—completing the entire process from start to finish in a day or less. Anyone in the world can participate.
This FREE event is open to ages 7 through adult. (children must be accompanied by an adult)

Long before the crypto-Jew, Superman, was Abie Kabibble, who appeared in Abie the Agent, the first syndicated Jewish comic strip in America, and one of the longest running ethnic comics. Published in newspapers throughout the US from 1914-1940, Abie presented a very different image of the Jew than had previously appeared on the vaudeville stage, in novels, and on phonograph records.

Parking for Our Event:
• Event parking rates will be in effect at the Union North Garage (located directly behind the Museum).
• If you plan to park in this garage, you can receive a reduced $15 rate by informing the parking attendant that you are attending a Billy Ireland Cartoon Library & Museum event. Thanks to CampusParc for partnering with us!
Traffic and Alternative Transportation:
Due to increased campus traffic, we encourage attendees to consider alternative transportation options such as public transit (COTA), taxis, or rideshare services. Limited nearby street parking may also be available.Thank you for planning ahead, and we look forward to seeing you at the event!
Join us on Saturday, March 1 for a special program celebrating the centennial of The New Yorker magazine and a reception for our new exhibit, See Anyone You Know? The New Yorker Cartoons and Covers of Edward Koren. This event is FREE and open to the public. No registration/tickets required.
Renowned New Yorker cartoonist Emily Flake will share stories from their career, and exhibit curator James Sturm and the family of Ed Koren will guide visitors through Koren’s work and legacy.
